There are moments in life when you realise the thing you’re searching for doesn’t really exist. Have you ever felt that way?
It was in one of those moments where I realised.. I’m Not Building a Business. I’m Building What I Wish Existed. If this is the era of life that you’re in, then this is for you.
As I was saying, I have come to the understanding that there are moments in life when you realise the thing you’re searching for doesn’t exist. This can be true for a multitude of things.
And it’s not because nobody cares.
But it’s because nobody has built it yet. What is it that you want to build?
For me, that was The Girls Circle.
It wasn’t born from a business plan or a marketing strategy.
It was born from lived experience.
From years spent working alongside incredible young people.
From watching girls quietly carry things they were never supposed to carry alone.
From my own journey through heartbreak, healing, ADHD, self-worth and discovering that a supportive community can and does change everything. When we speak about community, I don’t mean the place that we live, community can be anything. This blog is technically a community.
From learning and leaning on my therapist and healers that have helped to build me back up and poured light back into me.
Because, until you loose your spark – you never really appreciate what it feels like until you get it back.
From a strong community of the most incredible young girls and women.
Years before this…
I kept waiting for a space that felt honest.
A space where women didn’t have to perform.
A space where ambition and vulnerability could exist in the same room and still be seen as powerful.
Eventually…
I stopped waiting.
I stopped waiting because in 2023, I was sick of showing up to work heartbroken and pretending I was ok. In 2026, I share that exact story with so many professional women, all who can relate in their own ways and through me sharing that experience, I often get to witness so many amazing women, leaving the room feeling lighter, more empowered and seen.
So when people often ask me why I’m building The Girls Circle community. It took me a while to figure out my answer to that question; because when asked about ‘community’, that word alone has often felt too cliche and vague. Because it is so much deeper than that.
The truth?
I’m not interested in creating another community.
I’m interested in creating belonging.
A place where conversations about menstrual cycles sit alongside conversations about leadership.
Where women can celebrate promotions and admit they’re struggling in the very next sentence.
A space where women and girls feel comfortable enough to discuss their dreams without feeling guilt or embarrassed.
A space for professional women to be able to plan their next move and not settle.. in anything. And, if they have, to not feel the shame that often comes with settling.
Where nobody has to earn their place. Because, they’re already enough.
For me as a start-up founder, this past year has changed me significantly.
Therapy has changed me. It wasn’t until my therapist said to me “are you ready to be sene yet?’, that I started planning my blogs and LinkedIn posts. To be seen is to be vulnerable. To be seen, is to show up. To be seen, is to allow yourself to question “who do I want to be seen as” and often, that thought can be scarier. To be seen, is to also kick imposter syndrome in the ass.
Building something from nothing but a TikTok page and the belief from all of the young people and adults around me has changed me. I couldn’t begin to tell you, just how many people have been rooting for me and mentoring me and hyping me up along the way. Because of that, I now know, I am EXACTLY who I think I am and I am not ashamed to say it.
Heartbreak has changed me.
I’ve learnt that boundaries sometimes hurt.
But, they are so worth it.
We need boundaries in every sense of the word and in every area of our lives.
I’ve learnt that healing isn’t linear.
And I’ve learnt that purpose can find us in the middle of pain.
This past year, I have stepped into the most thriving and aligned version of myself. But, I have had to shed so much dead skin in order to become HER.
I’ve also learnt to be unapologetic about my greatness. And, I want you unapologetic about yours.
The Girls Circle isn’t perfect.
Neither am I.
Neither are any of the team or women & girls here.
But maybe that’s the point.
Maybe as women we don’t need another perfect space.
Maybe we just need somewhere real.
Maybe, you would like to join The Girls Circle movement (have you got this far, and not subscribed to the blog yet?).
If one girl feels less alone because of what we’re building…
If one woman remembers how powerful she is…
Every difficult chapter will have been worth it.
Even better, every amazing chapter will be living proof that life is a beautiful and complex thing.
Because I’m not building a business.
I’m building what I wish existed when I needed it. More than that, I’m building a space for you to finally belong.
